Listen: Pine needles sift wind. Grounded leaves shuffle. Swaying limb creaks. Galloping paws pound the earth. Barking. Panting. Down in the valley the train rolls and whistles, the highway hums. Crows caw on the ridge. A chickadee calls.
Praying today: For a place where the sounds are very different. “Winterfest” is in Lancaster this weekend and several hundred Lutheran youth and young adults are noisily worshiping, serving, learning and playing.
