Slice through the yellow-skinned grapefruit,
scent sharp as sunburn
sprays from twelve, glistening segments,
spoonfuls to quench the craving
for long lit days.
Praying today: Giving thanks today for fruit: for those who plant and tend trees and vines, for those (often migrants) who harvest, for those who deliver these gifts that keep our bodies healthy.
Today is the feast of Epiphany. May your journeys lead you, like the wise men, to adore the Holy One.
