Night Prayer in Solidarity with the People of Standing Rock

Today I have been in prayer with other clergy in solidarity with the people of Standing Rock. Throughout the day I have posted what I am praying. This is the last prayer of the day.

“You make me lie down in green pastures; you lead me beside still waters; you restore my soul.” Psalm 23:2

Night Prayer

For the provision of food,

water, and shelter

and the meeting of other needs for

the Water Protectors,

particularly those who plan to

witness in winter;

for the health and safety of all;

for those not a part of the Standing Rock camp

but who offer resources, aid, legal assistance and hope;

for rest at the end of a weary day

and for a quiet night.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

  1. Thank you for these prayers today – both beautiful and healing.

  2. Thank you, Elaine.
